Tanqueray and Esquire hosted a Manhattan Cocktail Classic event on Saturday, May 12th at The Lambs Club in NYC to celebrate Esquire’s May Music Issue and featuring the Pacific Standard Time Songwriter contest entries. The event started with a VIP hour hosted by Tanqueray Global Ambassador and Mixologist, Angus Winchester in the Stanford White Room at The Lambs Club, followed by the larger event hosted on the 2nd Floor Mezzanine.
Carbon NYC Third Annual Spring Charity Soirée

On May 11, Carbon NYC and Esquire Magazine partnered with Ultimat Vodka at Center 548 to host its Third Annual Spring Charity Soirée. The event supported local arts education programs through Lincoln Center and local artists through Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, founded byRussell, Daniel and Joseph Simmons. Guests bid on artwork while mixing and mingling over cocktails to the sounds of a jazz quartet from the famed Juilliard School followed by internationally renowned DJ Reflex Le Roque.

Woodford Reserve® Manhattan Experience NYC Finale

In the third annual Manhattan Experience event, Esquire and Woodford Reserve Craft Bourbon brought together bartenders from across the country to show off their finest Manhattan cocktails. This year’s event saw sixteen top mixologists square off in front of a packed house and a panel of noteworthy judges, including Woodford Reserve’s Master Distiller Chris Morris and Esquire Drinks Correspondent and cocktail historian David Wondrich.
New York’s own Joann Spiegel took home the well-earned title of Master of the Manhattan with her “Leaving Manhattan” cocktail.

Esquire’s ‘Best New Restaurant’ celebration featuring Herradura Tequila

Esquire and Herradura Tequila hosted a private 300 person ‘by invitation only’ event at Playa restaurant in Los Angeles to celebrate the restaurant being named to Esquire’s ‘Best New Restaurant’ list in America.
Chef/Owner John Sedlar, who was named Esquire’s 2011 ‘Chef of the Year’, served an assortment of specialty hors d’oeuvres at the event that married Mexican and South American food with a southern-California swagger and cutting edge neo-Latino cuisine.
Herradura Tequila showcased their portfolio of tequila’s through an assortment of exclusively created cocktails by Plays’s Master Mixologist Julian Cox. Herradura Tequila was also highlighted at an exclusive satellite tequila bar that only served Herradura Tequila vintages to guests in snifter glasses.
Half way through the event, Esquire’s Todd Simons, welcomed guests and talked about why Playa was named to the exclusive list. Chef John Sedlar then greeted guests and thanked Herradura Tequila and guests for providing incredible support for their new restaurant and community.

Brooks Brothers Holiday Wool Event

In celebration of the holidays and our Wool Review collaboration, Esquire co-hosted a shopping event at Brooks Brothers Lincoln Center store on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
Guests were treated to specialty cocktails from The Glenrothes, music from DJ Sugar Ray, and a complementary gift bag from Brooks Brothers with any wool purchase, which included Esquire’s Eat Like a Man cookbook.

Esquire worked with model Tirian Harvey to bring Brooks Brothers’ winter wool collection to life with an eight-page custom advertorial. Shown above, the unit combines Brooks Brothers’ Saxxon and Merino wool items in both still life and styled model looks. Advertorial was shot on location in Hearst’s Studio D.
Walton Goggins for Edifice

Esquire secured Emmy-nominated actor Walton Goggins to appear in a custom advertorial spread in our Americans of the Year issue. Malibu-based Jack Guy photographed Walton in a mid-century modern beach house down the road from his studio, and just off the Pacific Coast Highway. Justified, the show for which Walton was nominated for a 2011 Best Supporting Actor Emmy, returns for its third season in early 2012.

Esquire’s ‘Best New Restaurants’ Chef’s Dinner

Esquire and Patron Spirits celebrated Esquire’s annual ‘Best New Restaurants’ editorial feature with a private ‘by invitation only’ Chef’s Dinner.
The event, which was hosted at Boulud Sud, one of the featured best new restaurants, is an annual dinner hosted by Esquire’s Editor in Chief David Granger and John Mariani, Esquire’s Food and Travel Correspondent. Invited VIPs to this dinner are the Chefs and Owners of the featured restaurants named in the article.
The evening kicked-off with a one-hour cocktail party that featured Ultimat Vodka, Patron Tequila and Pyrat Rum hand-crafted cocktails and a selection of inspired hors d’oeuvres from legendary Chef Daniel Boulud and his culinary team.
After the cocktail reception, guests were invited into the main dining room at Boulud Sud for a sit down Chef’s Tasting Menu, prepared by Boulud Sud Executive Chef Chef Aaron Chambers and Pastry Chef Ghaya Oliveira.
Esquire ‘Hall of Fame’ inductions for 2011 were Tom Colicchio and Frank Stitt, who were both on hand to collect accept their inductions.
Esquire’s Big Black Book 5th Anniversary Celebration

On October 26th in NYC, Esquire Editor-in-Chief David Granger and Fashion Director Nick Sullivan hosted the 5th Anniversary celebration of Big Black Book at Darby Downstairs, NYC’s hottest new lounge.
Tanqueray Gin was the exclusive partner of the event which welcomed star of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire Michael Pitt, who is featured in the 5th Anniversary of Big Black Book and is also a featured spokesman for Tanqueray Gin.
During the event, VIP guests, including Marky Ramone of The Ramones and designer Thom Browne, enjoyed Tanqueray Gin specialty cocktails and hors d’oeuvres created by famed Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, a co-owner of Darby Downstairs.
