Shinola + Esquire Summer Shopping Experience

In June 2014, Shinola + Esquire partnered to host a Big American Style shopping experience and celebrate the launch of Esquire’s Summer Issue.

The event, held at the Shinola Tribeca store in New York City, was hosted by Esquire’s Fashion Director Nick Sullivan - who spoke to guests about classic American style and the emergence of Shinola as a leading men’s lifestyle brand - and more importantly, a brand that is Made in America. 

Invited guests enjoyed Gentleman Jack Tennessee Whiskey specialty cocktails as they checked out the beautifully designed Shinola Store. Guests were invited to shop for the perfect Father’s Day gift and were incentivized with a VIP gift bag valued at $150 - if they purchased $150 or more in Shinola gifts at the event.

Chivas, Esquire and the Esquire Network partnered in 2013/2014 to celebrate and announce the Chivas Brotherhood. The objectives of the program were to connect the shared DNA of the Chivas Manifesto and the Esquire brand pillars, to introduce the Chivas Brotherhood to the Esquire and Esquire Network audiences, and to recruit Brotherhood members.

Esquire & Esquire Network achieved this by creating a custom, first-ever Chivas-branded video series (see example in below post). The video series showcased a group of high-profile friends by sharing their individual success stories and following their passions. Chivas reached and engaged an audience across multiple channels for maximum efficiency and impact.

The web series consisted of 12 episodes in the Esquire editorial voice showcasing a meaningful cast:

In 2013, Woodford Reserve + Esquire co-hosted 31 Regional Manhattan Experience events.

To create buzz and excitement for the Manhattan Experience Finale Event, Esquire secured Esquire writer, Food Network & TV Host Ted Allen to be the Master of Ceremonies.

On Monday, January 13th in NYC, Woodford Reserve and Esquire crowned this year’s Master of the Manhattan at the NYC gala finale event of the Manhattan Experience cocktail competition.

Master of Ceremonies Ted Allen guided the energetic crowd as top regional bartenders displayed their mixology expertise for a panel of notable industry judges. Robert Aldrich, Zegna’s CEO, welcomed VIP guests and then introduced Nick Sullivan, Fashion Director of Esquire, who gave a fashion presentation of the collection, while guests enjoyed Italian inspired cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Esquire + Canoe Studios 2nd Annual Super Bowl Party, Presented By Heineken

Esquire and Canoe Studios partnered for our 2nd annual Super Bowl viewing party, presented by Heineken. The event, which was hosted by EAG Sports Management Athletes N.Y. Giants’ Aaron Ross and Olympic Gold Medalist Sanya Richards-Ross, brought together over 900 guests for the big game in New York City.

Guests enjoyed a variety of activations throughout the event including a Heineken photo booth, an Alec Bradley Cigar lounge, and the chance to play in the All In magazine charity poker tournament featuring World Series of Poker Champions Chris Moneymaker and Jamie Gold. DJ Tom Macari kept guests moving as they enjoyed a selection of Heineken, Heineken Light and Heineken Dark, catered treats by Canoe Studios, specialty cocktails by Grey Goose vodka and a D’USSÉ Cognac sipping station. Special thanks to Sony, our official 4K ultra HD TV provider for the event.

Dolce & Gabbana + Esquire’s ‘Gentleman of Taste’ Event

Esquire & Bloomingdale’s Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the British Invasion

In October 2013, Esquire partnered with Bloomingdale’s to create four invite-only events at the Paley Center for Media in New York and Los Angeles in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the British Invasion. Guests received a once-in-a-lifetime look at The Beatles’ legacy in music and film through a series of special panel discussions hosted by renowned Beatles authority, Mark Lewisohn. Each evening, Mr. Lewisohn engaged a different set of distinguished panelists who shared their insider and intimate knowledge of The Beatles. In addition to the dynamic roundtables, guests enjoyed sumptuous bites, British-themed cocktails, and great conversation with Mark and panelists both before and after the events.

Johnnie Walker & Esquire at House of Walker Event

Johnnie Walker and Esquire created an exclusive, curated exhibit showcasing Esquire’s Life of Man, highlighting photographer Mark Mann’s vision at House of Walker.

The exhibit was unveiled October 1st at the House of Walker with a standing-room only crowd on hand to hear Mark Mann’s Next Step story. Immediately after Mark Mann’s Q&A with Johnnie Walker’s Master of Whiskey, Stephen Wilson, guests were able to view the portraits and interact with the content through Johnnie Walker’s unique Perch display.

Herradura Barrel Art Collection Launch Event

Location: PowerHouse Arena, DUMBO

Tequila Herradura and Esquire partnered to co-host the launch event for the Herradura Barrel Art Collection – challenging artists from around the country to transform Tequila Herradura oak barrels into inspiring works of art. Held at Brooklyn’s PowerHouse Arena, guests viewed barrels transformed by 10 local NYC artists, learned the compelling inspiration behind each barrel creation, and were treated to a menu of specialty Tequila Herradura cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres.

HHerradirThe jury-selected winner of the NYC Barrel Art Collection event received $10,000 and will compete to be the grand prize winner at the Herradura Barrel Art Collection Finale held in Miami. The winning artist will receive a prize of $100,000. Tequila Herradura has joined forces with Creative Capital, an organization dedicated to supporting innovative and adventurous artists nationwide through funding, counsel and career development services.

TUDOR Watch & Hearst Men’s Group Event

On Tuesday, November 12th, TUDOR Watch USA and the Hearst Men’s Group partnered to create a stylish showcase event for TUDOR’s 2013 Collection and brand heritage entitled, STYLE & SPEED. The event was co-hosted by Russell Kelly, TUDOR Watch USA Brand Manager; Larry Webster, Editor in Chief of Road & Track magazine and Nick Sullivan, Esquire magazine’s Fashion Director. The event brought together 100 VIP guests at the Classic Car Club in downtown NYC – the mecca of stylish and collectible cars.

The focus of the event was to showcase the 2013 Collection of TUDOR USA Watches, which were beautifully displayed in branded vitrines. Guests were also able to experience the TUDOR Watch Audi A8 racing car from their formula series, which was brought in exclusively for the event. VIP Guests enjoyed a selection of cocktails courtesy of a Johnnie Walker Platinum tasting bar, while listening to the tunes of DJ Stef Nova and sampling hors d’oeuvres from On The Mark Caterers. As guests departed, they were treated to a TUDOR Watch gift bag.

Esquire’s 80th Anniversary Event

In October, Esquire celebrated its 80th Anniversary with an exclusive event at Highline Stages in New York City. The celebration was also the launch event for NBCUniversal’s The Esquire Network – the new men’s lifestyle cable channel.Esquire magazine Editor in Chief, David Granger and Esquire Network General Manager, Adam Stotsky co-hosted the event, which brought together over 800 VIP guests – and was sponsored by Johnnie Walker and Porsche.

The Roots’ Questlove kept guests moving as they experienced an exclusive photo exhibit by noted photographer Mark Mann entitled, The Life of Man, which was a living portrait of 80 accomplished, extraordinary men, one born in each year of Esquire’s history.

Esquire hosted the world premiere of “The Life of Man” photography exhibit in the Galleries of the Hearst Tower on September 10, 2013. Created as part of Esquire’s 80th Anniversary celebration, the exhibit includes photographs by Mark Mann of 80 extraordinary men – presidents, rock stars, movie legends, space babies – one born in each year of Esquire’s history.

Esquire’s ‘Best New Restaurants’ Chef’s Dinner

For more than thirty years, Esquire’s Best New Restaurants has been Esquire’s annual listing of the country’s finest new eating establishments. Esquire’s Chef’s Dinner is a celebration of the featured chefs in the Best New Restaurants article.

On Monday, October 7th, Esquire hosted its’ annual Chef’s Dinner at Le Cirque restaurant in New York City, in honor of Esquire’s 2014 Hall of Fame recipient, Sirio Maccioni, and the Maccioni family. 

Esquire’s Chef’s Dinner ‘by invitation only’ event was hosted by Esquire’s Editor in Chief David Granger and Esquire’s Food & Travel Correspondent John Mariani.
